In 1945 The Reverend William Still began a ministry Gilcomston South Church of Scotland that was to span 52 years. It was part of a spiritual awakening in Scotland. Through William Still's ministry, many young men would follow in his footsteps. By the 1970s there was a network of evangelical Churches up and down Scotland committed to the systematic preachiing of the Bible. Mr Stll produced weekly preaching notes under the auspices of what was known as the Didasko Press to aid his disciples in their preaching. By the late 50s the audio tape recorder began to be more widely available and when the compact cassette was invented in 1963 it became custom for the ministries of the Scottish Preachers to be recorded. Although the recordings were done by a variety of individuals, one man in particular collected them together and made them avaialble to others. Bruce Laing had the walls of his sitting room lined with cassette tapes. He would loan these to students when he and his wife offered them open house. When Bruce died, his collection was digitised and is now available for you to download. We make no charge for archival downloads but there are costs incurred in keeping this web site going so any donations would be appreciated.

There is a modest charge for more recent Crieff Recordings to cover the cost of making them.
